Coming home from the temple a week(ish) ago, we drove by this awesome park. I knew I had to visit it someday. Today was that day. Richmond Park is just lovely.
In 1625 Charles I brought his court to Richmond Palace to escape the plague in London and turned the area on the hill above Richmond into a park for the hunting of red and fallow deer. Now, the area is a National Nature Reserve, and still home to the hundreds of deer! It was fun to tromp around the muddy park and enjoy the early signs of spring.
I will definitely be bringing Chris back here on a warmer Saturday. Maybe we'll see some little fawns around April!
Cheers!

When you go out that way again pop over and visit Hampton Court Palace (Henry VIII) It's just 3 or so miles away from Richmond Palace.
