The Eighty-Third Day: Paris, Part 1

Thursday, May 1, 2014:

When we got to Paris on Wednesday night, we found our hotel and crashed. Nearly two weeks of running from city to city will really tire you, ya know? We slept in that morning, and woke to a foggy Paris. This is the view from our room:

We decided to visit the Sacre Coeur, as we didn't get to see it during our last trip to Paris.

Looking out at Paris from the steps of the Sacre Coeur.

Le Tour Eiffel from the Sacre Coeur.

We consumed that bag of chips so fast. It's funny how hungry you get walking around a city all day.
Then, we went to spend time outside the Notre Dame, we would have gone in, but it was PACKED and we'd seen it the last time we were there.

This is my favourite side of the cathedral, all those buttresses!

Because it was early spring, there were some baby ducklings playing around in the puddles around the cathedral. We sat and watched them for at least 45 minutes.

This little guy! He was so happy about the ducklings, that he kept jumping up and down. I tried to sneak a photo of him, and caught it just as he was falling down. Haha.

Those clouds in the sky slowly started to get more ominous as we walked down the Champs Elysees toward the plaza at the Louvre.

By the time we got there, they looked like this:

STORMAGEDDON 2014!!

We knew it would start pouring, so we headed back to the hotel for the night.

Behold: A terrible iPhone photo of the Eiffel Tower from the bar atop our hotel. I had to sneak in to get a photo, because they don't allow photography, evidently. Hence the lame phone picture.

Stay tuned for more Paris! The Catacombs and the Louvre coming up...
